The Bill Faulkner PhD Scholar and Early Career Researcher workshop is held annually immediately prior to the CAUTHE conference. The full day workshop provides PhD scholars and ECRs (who have completed a PhD within the past five years and have a teaching or research position) the opportunity to develop relevant knowledge, skills, and expertise through their PhD journey and into the early stages of their career. In 2020 participants will be welcomed at the gateway to AUT, Ngā Wai o Horotiu Marae. The program will include an interactive session on your PhD / ECR research and teaching elevator pitch. This will be followed by concurrent sessions ‘The First Five Years’ | ‘Resilience beyond the PhD journey’ and ‘The Examiner’s Voice’ | ‘Building a teaching portfolio’. There will be small group discussions by research approach. Finally mentoring will be provided by senior academics who will share their own experiences and insightful advice into strategic thinking and approaches for developing a successful long-term academic career.

Monday 10 February, 2020, 12.45 - 5.00 pm

$25 (regardless of attendance at the CAUTHE conference)

The Mid-Career Academic (MCA) workshop is held every two years immediately prior to the annual conference.
